The Brendlen’s are truly the most selfless and all around amazing people I know. So giving, welcoming, and never expected anything in return. My 18month old niece became critically ill, unexpectedly! She was in complete renal failure, which led to having both her kidneys removed. My brother-in-law and sister, could not bare leave their daughter’s side, they spent 3 months at MUSC, with no income. MUSC is approximately 1.5 hours aways from our home, putting a huge financial strain on my family.
Mrs. Chelsea Brendlen, reached out to me and asked if she and her family could put together a fundraiser for Natalyn, to help with the financial burden. Me, nor my family had to worry about handling anything.. so that we could spend the time we needed with Natalyn. The fundraiser was so much more than we could’ve ever expected. So many food vendors, a silent auction, petting zoo, face painting, bouncy houses, dunk tank, Superheroes, princesses, local first responders, and a live local singer! The turnout was absolutely amazing. The Brendlen‘s hard work definitely paid off, raising almost $20,000 for Natalyn!!!
We truly cannot thank y’all enough!

For most of my life I have had the opportunity to give back and help others through my family’s Christmas light display and various fundraisers we did for the community. I am excited to be apart of this organization to be able to help others and give back year round.
My occupation requires me to visit the homes of our senior adults in 4 counties. On a daily basis, I find
My name is Kenzie Stone. I am a member of Caring Hearts of South Carolina for two reasons. I experienced the Brendlen family’s compassion firsthand in 2011. I am grateful for what their family did for mine during such a hard time.
I wanted to join Caring Hearts because I believe they make a huge difference within the community. Chelsea, Barry, and their family have always been able to help other families out and provide great assistance in the community since I was in high school, and I see the work they have done in the community every day. My family has also experienced the impact they have on the community and assistance they provide personally. The reason I wanted to join caring hearts is so I can not only give back to my community, I can have a positive impact in the lives of those people that we are able to help.
I am so excited to be part of Caring Hearts. There are so many people in the Lowcountry that have experienced unexpected tragedy and it is so wonderful to be part of an organization that is able to help uplift and bring joy in their time of need.
